Fall Outdoor Décor
It’s just about that time of year… pumpkin spice lattes are back, the leaves are changing, football season is here. Fall has officially returned to the Triangle, and with it comes the chance for crafty, design-savvy home dwellers to deck their halls – or in this case, doors and porches.
Glam Gourds. Want a fresh take on traditional pumpkins? Grab a can of spray paint and paint those pumpkins (real or fake) white or gold, and stack a couple outside the front door for a seasonal punch.
A Rung Above. To create a seasonal porch punch, take a wooden ladder and rest it against the side of the door, hanging fall patterned, cozy blankets on a couple rungs.
Use Existing Pieces. Have a bench, lanterns or planters already on your porch? Throw some plaid, spice-colored pillows on the bench, wrap autumn themed ribbon around the top of the lanterns and toss some (artificial) gounds into the planters.
Repurpose a Red Wagon. An old wagon either found in the garage or scooped up at a thrift store can be a great “staging” piece to transition a front porch during the seasons. In the fall, fill it with rustic lanterns, drape plaid throw blankets, fill it with pinecones and leaves. For the holidays, keep the pinecones and put festive ribbon on the lanterns.
