Get to Know Chris Lambton

Fans of the wildly popular “Bachelor” franchise on ABC might recognize Chris Lambton from a time when he was accepting roses from the Bachelorette – but now happily married former suitor is better known for growing roses. Chris Lambton from DIY’s Lawn and Order, Yard Crashers and HGTV’s Going Yard will be at the Southern Ideal Home Show September 21-23 to chat all things yard and outdoor living, but first he shared some of his garden home improvement tips with us. 

What’s an easy DIY project homeowners can tackle to improve their space?
 An easy DIY that homeowners can do with a huge dividend is mulching. 

What was the last picture you took with your phone?
 A picture of my daughter Lyla playing in the garden. 

If you had to move to another country, which would you pick and why?I would move to Spain. I love the food, culture, wine and who doesn't love siestas!?!?!?!

What’s one thing we wouldn’t guess about you?I am scared of heights

What’s a common mistake homeowners make when they take on a home improvement project themselves?The biggest homeowner mistake is taking on too big a project. Some projects should be left to a professional who will get it done quicker and the right way.

What’s a must-have at any party you’re throwing?

Good music! No party is complete unless you have good tunes playing. For my parties I love a good country music playlist.

What project have you been most proud to work on?My own home. I love my flower and vegetable gardens.

What advice would you give to your 10 year old self?
Don’t worry about what other people think and enjoy every day because life moves pretty fast. 

Could you live in a tiny home?Never. I am too tall

What’s your best organization hack? 
My wife Peyton. She is super organized. I would suggest hiring her.

Which HGTV / DIY Network star would you most like to work with and why?Josh Temple or Chip Gaines. They are so much fun to be around and really know their stuff too. They would make work fun.  

You’ve been interviewed many times. What is the one question you always wish someone would ask?
What’s your favorite thing about where you are from, Cape Cod? The beaches!
